What are Mobile App Campaigns?
Mobile App Campaigns are campaigns that are specifically setup to link with mobile applications. These campaigns have a primary focus on download volume and in app actions. App Campaigns are available in most advertising platforms including Google, Facebook, Tiktok, LINE, and Native Platforms, and are commonly referred to as UAC (Universal App Campaigns). The campaigns are linked directly to the app stores for Android and iOS, where users can download directly to their device. That being said, App campaigns are only available for mobile devices.
How much do Mobile App Campaigns Cost?
As with all digital marketing campaigns, the costs will vary based on the campaign settings and advertising platform, in 2023 we saw an average cost per install/download in Thailand of 25 THB, however, there are many factors that contribute to the cost including how the download is being measured. As with conversion-based campaigns, with the right tracking you can also optimize for in-app events, this could be a registration or purchase. Similar to a conversion on a website the cost for the Download + action will be based on your conversion rate.
How do mobile app campaigns work?
Mobile App campaigns differ from standard web-based campaigns as the user will need to download/install and often register before they are able to use the app. Unlike a website which you can simply send traffic too. Therefore, the primary goal of most App campaigns is download/install. For a new Applications, developer accounts must be created on both Google and Apple app stores (which includes paying an annual fee) and the app must follow their respective guidelines. Once ready the app will be submitted for a review, and when approved will be made available on each store to be selected as part of the App campaign setup.
What are the benefits of using a Mobile App Marketing Agency?
Mobile app campaigns have certain nuances that for beginner marketers can be tricky. Unlike standard web tracking, which can usually be done with platforms such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel, app tracking usually involves the original App developers and requires some rigorous testing, therefor experience can save valuable time and expense on the initial setup and tracking period.
